Baptism Testimony — Claire Shin

When I was younger, I feared going to church because I would have to be separated from my parents. Unfortunately, this fear lasted for many years. I began to sit with my parents at church where the other adults were. Eventually, I stopped going to church when I was 6. In middle school, I became insecure about the fact that I didn’t have any particular hobbies, interests, or passions. I didn’t know how to determine my self-worth. I began to…

278. New Beginning for Youth Ministry

Youth Shepherd application was due last Sunday. A total of six new Youth Shepherds have committed to serve for 3 years. One of them is a previous youth shepherd recommitting. I am delighted that the sacrifice of previous youth shepherds was not in vain, and their testimonies have inspired the new cohort to serve our youth in a bigger capacity. I don’t know each one’s story in detail, but I do know that the new youth shepherds really have wrestled…

Confirmation Testimony — Lucas Kim

Good morning everyone, as you may know I’m Lucas Kim, and I’m here to present my testimony on my journey as a newly-born child of God. It feels like only yesterday that I graduated from Rocket Kids, and it has certainly has been an amazing adventure so far. I was born into a Christian family, and it’s during my early years where I began to familiarise myself on Christian habits and values. When I came to The Seed, this is…

277. Showing Up

Some said, “80% of success is showing up”. There is no quantifiable way to know if it is true, but from my experience, this is a pretty valid statement. If you show up, something can happen. If you don’t, nothing will. And those “something” accumulate over time and result in “something” special. For example, people think fitness is the result of strong will-power. But fitness is about being consistent, even if the result is not shown right away. When you…

276. Masking Will Become Voluntary

After speaking with a few leaders who have better understanding of the current COVID-19 situation, Pastor team has agreed that making masking voluntary would be appropriate at this point. So, starting from 6/19 (Sun), masking will become voluntary, and we will enter phase three of the in-person service transition plan. Those who come to in-person service will be no longer required to wear a mask. To be clear, those who want to continue to wear the mask can do so.…

Baptism Testimony — Esther Ahn

Hello everyone. My name is Esther and I’d like to share with you all today of my spiritual journey and how I came to my decision to be baptized.  Like many of you, I was brought up in a Christian household. I think from a young age, I recognized that I was a very weak person because I felt very helpless on my own and felt I couldn’t do normal things like everyone else without feeling anxious. Growing up, I…

275. Power of Narrative

Modern people think morality can change, since what used to be wrong is now acceptable. But what actually changes is not morality, but our understanding of morality based on the changed “narrative” of the age. It is because we don’t think in a vacuum. We think ourselves as a character in a “story”. The same action can have a different moral conclusion based on the story. For example, in a movie, traditionally, killing dragons is what a hero would do.…
