244. Consistent Prayer
People invest in many things. But it seems that not many view prayer as an investment. It is a spiritual investment that brings tangible gains in our present lives, and that is to come. (1 Timothy 4:8) I think many Christians care too much about the “quality” of their prayer. I used to think the same way. But the more I understand prayer as an investment, “quantity” is as important, if not more. Think about it. God already knows our…

243. God Is On the Move
I think it is engrained in human nature to want to “tame” God to their understanding. Men have tried to put divine beings into a visible image, touchable statue, and recognizable place throughout history. But if God looks exactly as we expected him to be, he wouldn’t be God anymore, by definition. This temptation to tame God to our understanding is not limited to non-Christians. But if we look at the scripture, God has always been on the move. Abraham…

242. New Attendance: Engagement
Many church consultants say that we will see a decrease in physical church attendance after the pandemic. It is what had been already happening but has accelerated during the pandemic. It is not just the fear of the virus. We see a significant change in modern people’s way of thinking and behaviours, affecting how they relate to their faith and faith-related activities. At first, as a pastor, it worried me, but soon I realized this was a blessing in disguise.…

241. Prayer and Anticipation
When I order something from Amazon, I begin to expect its delivery. Then, when I hear a car noise, I immediately think it is a delivery truck. But, when I didn’t order anything (but my wife did), even when the delivery truck is here, I don’t pay attention because I wasn’t expecting it. The answer to our prayer is like the delivery truck. We recognize what we anticipate. I think that is why God wants us to pray. When we…

240. Ministry Month
Ministry month is starting this week. It is a three-week yearly event at The Seed to allow our members to find their team ministry. Instead of asking people to serve, we help people to volunteer. People enjoy what they do when they sign up for it, not forced on them. We ask our members to commit at least one year. Last year, we had to cancel the ministry month due to the pandemic, and our serving members willingly extended their…
